Christmas in the Bible

Can you answer the following?

  • If the angels didn't sing 'Jingle Bells' , what did they say? (check out Luke 2)
  • How many wise men were there? (have a look in Matthew 2)
  • Can you say when Jesus' life began? (read John 1 first)
  • Which of the Gospels record the Christmas story?

Why not take the time to read one of the gospel accounts to your family this Christmas?

Christmas in the Carols

Can you name the Christmas carols with these lines in them?

  • 'God and sinners reconciled'
  • 'true God of true God'
  • 'came he to a world forlorn'
  • 'glad tidings of great joy I bring'
  • 'to seek for a king was their intent'
  • 'with the poor and mean and lowly'
  • 'to save us all from Satan's power'
  • 'let every heart prepare him room'
How did you go? Each year our carols do a great job of reminding us of the reason for Jesus' coming. Join us at Christmas and sing them all again.

Christmas Give-away

At our Christmas services, we'll be offering each household a copy of "A Breathtaking Moment" - a short summary of the wonder of what God has done in sending Jesus.

Christmas Eve at our Churches

Dural

6pm-8pm

This season, join us in celebrating Christmas Eve with lots of Aussie-flavoured fun for the whole family.  Prizes on offer for the best decorated pavlova, the furthest thong thrown, the most lamingtons eaten, etc.  There will also be a stage show with favourite carols, puppets, and the Christmas story read from the Aussie Bible.  Bring your family, your picnic rug, and your festive spirit (an affordable BBQ will be available in the paddock).

In the event of rain, the festivities will be brought indoors at St Jude’s Education Centre.

10:30pm

For a more traditional service, join us for communion in the historic little church at St Jude's at 10:30pm.

This quieter service provides a warm setting for a vital message - a time to remember the one who "took frail flesh that he might die".

Kenthurst

CartoonChristmas.png5pm

For the whole family at Kenthurst, a Very Cartoon Christmas.

Come and enjoy Christmas celebrations with us, as we hear more about the coming of Jesus in a fun way.

There'll be food, music and (of course) cartoons!
