Dural Ministry Summary

Our congregations are actively involved in a range of ministry activities - and we're eager to welcome you, too.

Services

7:45am in little church. Holy Communion most Sundays, Morning Prayer once a month when the rector is at St Columb's Arcadia.

10am in the Education Centre. An all ages service, with a focus on families with younger children. Sunday School/Kids' Church each week in term.

6pm in the Education Centre. A service aimed at Youth and Young adults, but all are very welcome.

Small Groups

We encourage all members to attend a small group on a weekly or fortnightly basis, for Bible study, prayer and mutual support in following Jesus Christ.

In 2008 we have the following small groups associated with Dural services in particular...

  • 10am Tuesday in term (weekly in Education Centre lounge room)
  • 8pm Tuesday in term (weekly in Education Centre lounge room)
  • 2pm Wednesday (fortnightly in Education Centre lounge room)
  • 7:45pm Wednesday in term (weekly Education Centre lounge room)
  • 10am Thursday in term for women (downstairs hall in Education Centre - mums with children welcome)
  • 8pm Friday (in private home - new members welcome)
  • 3pm Sunday (fortnightly in private home - new members welcome)

Children

Two mid-week groups for children run on Fridays - 6pm-7:30pm

GFS for girls in school years K-6. Co-ordinator is Bronwyn O'Neil.

CEBS for boys in school years 1-6. Co-Ordinator is Phillip Myers.

All are welcome. There is a small fee per term to cover activities.

Youth

Families

Apart from our 10am service with its Sunday School, we also have a monthly meeting for young families.

Saturday afternoons at 3pm-5:30pm, it's a chance to socialise together over afternoon tea and let the children play together. There's time for Bible study and prayer together. No one is forced to read or pray aloud - the emphasis is on friendly consideration of the basics of the Christian life.

Leaders

Elected

The 2088 church wardens for St Jude's are Hilton Bell, Arthur Field and Alison Guthrie. Mark Sutherland-Harris is also on the Parish Council.

Staff

Our Senior Minister is Fergus Semler. He oversees the ministry of the whole parish, and has a particular focus on 7:45am and 10am.

Our Youth Minister, Bernie Leo, is responsible for the conduct of the 6pm service.

Aaron Wright is the Music Ministry Co-ordinator for 10am and 6pm.
