Care Ministries

Most often, our care is shown informally in one-to-one or through our small groups. But if trouble strikes, or there's a new baby in the house, or someone is taken ill, and more help is needed, we have our Care Ministries. We can't do everything, but your parish family is happy to offer practical help when needs arise. Regular members of the parish are welcome to be involved in this minstry.

Prayer Chain

If you'd like people to pray for you or someone you know at a particular time of need, the prayer chains are ready to help.

  • Phone Prayer Chains: telephone the prayer co-ordinators, Elsie McNab or Gill Robson, and they will pass your request to other parishioners who will pray for you
  • Email Prayer Chain: contact the office, or ask the phone co-ordinators to do so, and we'll send an email to those who agreed to be on the email prayer chain

Regular members of the parish are welcome to join this ministry.

Food

Know someone who could be helped by receiving a few meals? Contact our co-ordinators, Bob and Barbara McKew, and let them know.

Members of the parish can put their names on a list to be called upon in rotation to provide food for this ministry.

Transport

No family or friends able to take you to that doctor's appoinment? We can help.

Volunteers go on a list to be asked to provide this occasional help for important appointments.

With busy lives, we often need good notice - so please contact the McKews as soon as you know you need this help.

Home Visits

Margaret Duckworth co-ordinates this ministry, especially for the chronically ill, who need regular contact from the church volunteers and ministry staff. Contact her to discuss the need.

If needs are more major and require long-term support, this is to be discussed with the minister.
